HAPPY LABOR DAY…..weekend Its our last weekend before school starts! Where did the summer go!?!?! I wish it was longer so we can play inthe sunshine more! Anyways…we had a great show today even though Gary The Happy Pirate was under the weather or under his ship as he says! We voted on a new smash or trash song this week. This week’s song is from the Little Mermaid. It was “Under the Sea” and you decided that it was a SMASH! We learned about the Percussion group and if you don’t remember what a percussion instrument is….its a drum! Today we wished Emma from Rochester a Happy 9th Birthday! OMG! I forgot to blog yesterday! Yesterday was a fun day! We had lots to do! We voted on a new Smash or Trash song. This week’s song was “You’ve Got A Friend In Me” from “Toy Story”! We had some mix reviews, but the smashes won! “You’ve Got A Friend In Me” will be added to regular rotation! We learned about the Woodwind instrument family, courtesy of the Eastman Community Music School. Squidword and I play a woodwind instrument called the clarinet, but we learned about the flute, piccalo, and oboe. Then to end the show, Gary The Happy Pirate gave us another healthy recipe. This week’s recipe was called “Bagel Critters”. You need a bagel, cream cheese (or peanut butter), chopped veggies or fruit of your choice, and chinese noodles. Then you make a critter out of your bagel and fun ingredients…I made a lion that looked like Justin Bieber lol. Today was an awesome show! It was sooo fast it seemed like time really did fly by! We had another rousing round of “Smash or Trash”. Today’s song was from the Movie “Beauty & The Beast”. We listened to “Be Our Guest” and you voted that it was a SMASH! It will now be added into regular rotation on Saturday Morning Car Tunes thanks to you! Gary The Happy Pirate gave us a new healthy snack to make called “Fruit Sushi” All you need is bread, peanut butter, bananas, and strawberries! It was a very tasty treat! We also wished Sarah from Rochester a very Happy 11th Birthday! On top of all that we still had time to learn about a new instrument group courtesy of the Eastman Community Music School. We learned about the Bowed Strings which includes the violin, viola, cello, and the bass. Next week we will learn about  another instrument family and its one of my favorites! What a fun show today was! Gary the Happy Pirate joined us today! He’s so funny! He came jam packed with lots of jokes! He also gave us an idea for a healthy snack called Banana Dog! Its a whole wheat hotdog bun with peanut butter, jelly and a banana on it! Sounds tasty to me! Nina Music stopped in and played a song for us! She did a fabulous job. Some fun facts about her: her favorite toy is a big wheel, blue is her favorite color, and her toothbrush is blue and white! Thanks for stopping by today Nina! Wow! Its been a few weeks since I blogged! Lots has been goin gon. My best friend got married and I was in her wedding! I got to wear a pretty dress like I was a princess. This weekend we heard the 1st place essay winner of the Wesley Garden Essay Contest. Her name is Victoria Oaks and she goes to Brooks Hill Elementary. Congrats Victoria on winning first place! Phew! We survived the heat wave and landed right into Saturday! This weekend we heard from another Wesley Gardens Essay winner. This week’s essay was written by Andrew Molinari. He attends the St. Loius Elementary school. Congrats Andrew on landing in the top 10 winners! We discussed how to survive a heat wave. Eat lots of ice cream and go swimming….or just stay in the air conditioning! We also voted on a new song to add to Saturday Morning Car Tunes. This week’s song was an oldie, but a goodie and fit the season perfectly. The song was “Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini”, by Brian Hyland. Today we had Gary The Happy Pirate on Saturday Morning Car Tunes! He stayed and gave us tips on healthy summer snacks and travel craft ideas. We talked about three healthy snacks you can make: Ants on a log (celery, peanut butter, and raisins), dirt cups (pudding, graham crackers, and gummy worms), and the pirate ship (celery, peanut butter, fruit roll up, & a toothpick). Tasty, healthy treats for summer that are fun to make and easy to clean up! He also gave a us a fun travel tip for kids! Bring aluminum foil on a road trip to  keep your kids busy. They can make jewelry, hats, shorts, glasses, etc. Congrats to Alice, from Greece! She won a family four pack to Darien Lake! Today was a very special morning. I had the Wesley Gardens “Older Friend” Essay winners on. All 10 winners were on the show with me this morning. Thank goodness it is the weekend. For some reason this week seemed like a really long week! Maybe its because the weather wasn’t very spring like! I happened to catch Miley Cyrus on American Idol this week. I have to say that I thought she did well with giving advice, but her performance was even better! I really liked her white dress! I thought it was fun that Joe and Demi were also asked to sing on American Idol too! It was a Disney kind of night!

Its the last weekend in February and we got a SNOW DAY!!!! I don’t know about you, but I love a surprise three day weekend! School break is almost over and that is very sad. I don’t know about you, but I’m not ready to go back to school and all that homework! I had too much fun this week! I had a sleep over with my cousins. We ate lots of popcorn, watched movies, and played Kerplunk! I also played outside in the fresh fallen snow. Finally, the weekend has arrived and its a very exciting weekend! Tomorrow is the biggest football game of the year! Who do you think will win, the New Orleans Saints or the Indianapolis Colts? I hope the Saints win because this is their very first time playing in the big football game! Happy Ground Hog’s DAY!!! This means two things….The first is that the ground hog has seen his shadow! We have 6 more weeks of winter to enjoy. So keep your sleds, ice skates, and skis out! We have a lot more time to enjoy the winter activities (and drink hot chocolate!). The second thing is that I have officially hosted Saturday Morning Car Tunes for TWO years as of today! I’m soo exctied its the day before WARM 101.3’s Breakfast with Santa! I love going to this every year! This year I will be telling Christmas stories. Make sure you stop by and listen to a tale after you see Santa and eat your breakfast! Then afterwards I’m going on a short trip to see one of the biggest Christmas Trees in NY! Hello! I hope you had a very yummy Thanksgiving! Now its time for my favorite time of year…CHRISTMAS!! I went to the Park Ave Holiday Open House and saw Santa. I sat on his lap and everything! he is such a nice old man! Today I hope you can join me at The Strong National Museum of Play to help with the Pirate Toy Fund. Gary The Happy Pirate has been holding this toy fund for 14 years! He was a special guest on my show this morning. We’ll be singing Christmas carols and collecting toys for all of the kids who might not have one otherwise. Make sure you stop by with an unwrapped toy to donate! It’s been a while since i have written! I have soo much to tell you about! On November 4th I took my nephew, Connor, to see the Imagination Movers at the Auditorium Theater! What a great show! If you were there I bet you danced your socks off! My favorite song they sang was “Mover Music”. But that’s not all! Last weekend I got to check out Rochester’s newest play center…KANGO PLAY! What a fun place for kids and their parents! They have rollerskating, climbing things, slides, and lots of games! The best part is kids are only $8 and parents are free!!! It’s located on 1565 jefferson Rd in the Eagle’s landing plaza.

Now remember to keep next weekend open. Santa Clause is making his big holiday arrival at The Mall at Greece Ridge Mall. I’ll be there from 11-1 for all of the holiday fun!!! Make sure you stop in and say hi!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Hopefully the rain will go away so you can trick or treat! Make sure you join Terese Taylor this afternoon from 1-3p at Memorial Park for the 2009 Gates Halloween Festival! There will be hayrides, pumpkin painting, trick or treating and a…..HALLOWEEN PARADE!  So fun! I’ll be spending the day with my nephew Connor. We made Halloween cupcakes yesterday and tonight he will be trick or treating as a lil dragon! Make sure you have a fun and safe Halloween. I look forward to hearing all about it!

Hi everyone! Last weekend I got to meet Barney at The Mall at Greece Ridge. I know a lot of you got to meet him too because I saw you there! He really is a friendly Dinosaur! After meeting Barney, I spent the eveing at Darien Lake for FRIGHT FEST! I got to ride some roller coasters, completed the corn maze, walked through a haunted house, and took a scary field trip through the woods on a bus! If you missed Fright Fest this year….make plans for you and your family to go next year!  Don’t worry though….the Halloween fun isn’t over yet!

Hi everyone! Sorry I haven’t written in a while. I started school this month and it has been keeping me very busy…I have lots of homework just like you! October is one of my very favorite months because of all of the fun things you can do. Like this weekend is the Apple Festival in Hilton. You can go check out the craft show and get lots of yummy apple treats. There are a lot of hayrides in this area to pick up your BIG pumpkin to carve for Halloween. Today I am off to Seabreeze for Miss Beth’s Boot Camp! It’s not hard to graduate from Miss Beth’s Boot Camp. All you have to do is compete in a relay race of different activites. Cheerio! That’s how the english say hello! I wanted to share my summer adventure with you! Last weekend I took some time off to fly to Florida and help my cousin, Amanda, pack up her whole apartment into a moving truck and drive it all the way back to NY! Let me tell you…she has a lot of stuff!!! Good thing she got one of those BIG moving trucks! We were able to take a break on Saturday to spend the day at Disney World! To thank me for my help, she surprised me with a fun breakfast with Mary Poppins, Winnie The Pooh, Tigger, Alice, and the Mad Hatter! Tigger took a picture with me and I want to share it with you! I’m sorry that it has been a while since I have written! Here are some of the things I have been doing: I was invited to meet and complete stage announcements for Jordan Pruitt and Varsity Fan Club at Darien Lake. I have been very busy playing at Strong National Museum in the Barbie exhibit.
Here is some teen celebrity news for you. Kevin Jonas is getting married! That was a sad day for me and a lot of other girls! Miley Cyrus’ song “The Climb” is the most sang song at the American Idol auditions. Demi Lovato is releasing a her album “here we go again” on Tuesday, July 2st. You can watch her in her new show “Sonny with a Chance” on Disney Channel. The new Harry Potter movie is out now! It looks like it is going to be kind of scary, but that won’t stop me from watching it! You can check your local theaters for show times!

Happy Valentine’s Day!!! I hope you have a FABULOUS Valentine’s day. I plan on spending the day with my two little cousins. They are my special Valentines today. We are going to go out for Dinner and eat a special, yummy Valentine’s Day dessert. I hope you are going to do something special today too!

So last weekend I did this really cool thing. Have you ever been snowmobiling?!?! I went for my first time last weekend when we had a lot of snow. It was a lot of fun! We went super duper fast. I got butterflies in my belly from going so fast, but it was GREAT!! Snowmobiling is definitely something I would do again, Its kind of like being on a rollercoaster without the hills.

Dadnapped: Disney Channel has a new televison movie airing on Monday, February 16th at 8pm. Its  called “Dadnapped” and it features Emily Osment from “Hannah Montana” and David Henrie from the “Wizards of Waverly Place”. Today after Saturday Morning Car Tunes I am going to do one of my most favorite things in the winter…ICE SKATE! I just learned how to skate last year so I fall on my behind alot! Today I met one of the Harlem Globetrotters. His name was Buckets. We went to Galisano Children’s Hospital to pay a visit to the kids there.  Buckets did lots of cool basketball tricks like spinning the ball on his finger, and dribbling betweein his legs and other cool things. He signed pictures for all the kids there.

Then I went to visit School #4. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd graders put on a production for Black History Month. It was called ‘A Legacy of Hope’. The students did a Fantastic job and it was fun to see them sing and recite famous speeches from Martin Luther King Jr.  Good Job Kids!
