As if small businesses don’t feel overwhelmed enough already by the power of the big guys, a Wall Street financial firm compiled a report that Amazon now has a warehouse or delivery station within 20 miles of 44% of US households. UGH!!!
Do you know how many small businesses there are in that same 20 miles praying that most consumers leave their mouse at home and open the door of their brick and mortar store and say “Hello” this Holiday season?
There is power in small. “Main Street” is alive and well. There’s is no automation that can replace the truly personalized, engaging experience of shopping small. It takes work to beat the BIG “A”. While many small business likely can’t compete on price or selection, we can take a few pages out of the Amazon playbook and apply the tactics in more customer-centric ways that drive great relationships. Amazon might have millions of buyers, but Small Business Owners know the value they can have with highly valuable loyal customers. HUG YOUR CUSTOMER
