(WHEC-TV) New York state has set aside $3-million to provide air conditioners to people with heat-related health problems.
The State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance said Monday that eligible households must meet income guidelines and have at least one person with a medical condition that makes hot weather dangerous.
People can apply at local social service agencies. Households determined eligible for the Cooling Assistance Program will receive one air conditioner that will be installed at no charge.
Air conditioners will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Click here for more information.
